EMPOWERING GRASS ROOTS GLOBAL MAJORITY COMMUNITIES

GMECN is a community led network that grew from Global Majority organisations in Greater Manchester. It has been around for 15 years. We became an independent organisation Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2023.  Our community is for organisations majority led by and/or supporting GLobal Majority Communities who experience racial inequalities across Greater Manchester.   

To empower Global Majority Communities in Greater Manchester by helping our members strengthen their impact. . To do this, we collaborate as a community to tackle inequalities in our sector for members to better serve their communities. Unlike national organisations, GMECN works hyper-locally with organisations rooted in the community.  

 These include live funding opportunities, access to relevant info, connecting & collaborating with peers, capacity development, technology workshops & more. We help our members connect with decision-makers to co-develop & provide insight to deliver services for Greater Manchester Global Majority Communities.
